Jigsaw
This poem is a counter to the populist and divisive narrative so prevalent in politics.
We are pieces in an infinite puzzle Interconnected Dependent on each other To find our place Stronger when each has found where they fit Know that they too belong But washed in sadness, fear and anger We can’t hear birds, watch clouds or See the orchid peeking through the grass We only feel our margins And how we fit with our loved ones So we protect our perimeters Lose sight of the bigger picture Forgetting that, ultimately all edges touch
This is immeasurably beautiful and truly profound. I felt this deeply while reading it, thank you for writing in words something I felt within but haven’t seen written like this before - in such an honest, human and profound way. “Forgetting that, ultimately
all edges touch” thank you for reminding us of this, it is a beautiful tribute to our inherent connection to everything (else).
